The Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the Sony Xperia S are two of the very best mobile devices that make use of the excellent Android Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. Previously we took a look at the design and display quality on both of these models. We concluded that both models offered superb styling but the Sony eclipsed its rival for screen technology. Now we see how the models compare in terms of processing power and camera quality.

There is very little to choose between these two devices in terms of processing power with both handsets incorporating impressive chipsets. The Sony Xperia S uses a powerful Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon processor which boasts dual cores and is clocked at 1.5Ghz. This chip helps the model to deliver excellent performance speeds and the dual cores are especially beneficial for multi tasking. An Adreno 220 graphics processing unit is also featured on this model to ensure the phone can handle the most demanding games titles that are available. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus also incorporates a dual core processor but one that is clocked at a lower speed of 1.2Ghz. This ARM Cortex A9 processor still manages to deliver super operation speeds and there is no noticeable difference between this model and the Xperia S in terms of performance. A PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing chip ensures that games titles and video playback is superb. The dual core chipsets on both of these models deliver excellent operation speeds and despite the slightly less powerful configuration on the Galaxy Nexus performance on both models is almost identical.

One area where the Sony Xperia S does impress us more than its rival is with its excellent photography features. Sony have always provided excellent cameras on their devices and this model in no exception. The Xperia S can capture photographs at a resolution of 12 mega pixels. Thanks to the excellent BSI sensor that is also used the image quality is superb. A secondary camera is also present on the model which can capture 1.3 mega pixel photographs. Some useful features are also present to help users in capturing the highest possible quality. An LED flash, smile detection and auto focus are all very useful while more unusual features such as a 3D Sweep Panoramic mode is a fun and innovative introduction. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus offers a still camera feature with a resolution of 5 mega pixels which is considerably lower than what the Xperia S boasts. The model does however still produce some high quality images thanks to a good quality sensor and some excellent features which include face detection and touch focus. Both handsets record video footage at 1080P resolution.

The Sony Xperia S and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus are both powerful phones that offer excellent operation speeds. The Sony model does offer more in the way of photographic quality thanks to an extremely high resolution and a superb BSI sensor.

We do not have long to wait until we are introduced to the new Galaxy S3, the eagerly awaited new smartphone from Samsung. This model is the successor to the popular Galaxy S2 device which was launched in 2011 and quickly became a hit with consumer thanks to its excellent specification. Recently we have seen a number of manufacturers launch new models boasting some excellent features. One such model is the superb Sony Xperia S which is regarded as one of the leading devices currently available. We see how the rumoured specification of the new Samsung may compare with what this excellent Sony device has to offer.

At this moment in time we have only seen leaked images of the new Samsung Galaxy S3 but we are fairly certain that some recent images give us a good idea of what the device may look like. The model will definitely be larger than the Galaxy S2 thanks to the inclusion of a larger display. In terms of design the model looks likely to be very similar to its predecessor with a very slim profile and some neatly rounded edges. There have been numerous rumours that suggest that the new handset will be constructed from a new liquid metal material which well not only help the model offer great durability but also make the handset one of the most lightweight devices on the market. The new Sony Xperia S looks very similar to the other Xperia devices that have been released which is pleasing as these handsets have always offered some very stylish looks. From the front the model sports a very angular design which is in stark contrast to many new handsets that offer a more curved look. Turn the handset over however and you are greeted by a gently curved back panel which contrasts nicely against the more clinical design found on the fascia. An attractive transparent strip is located beneath the screen which helps the model to instantly stand out against its rivals. The model is constructed from high quality plastics which feel very comfortable in the palm of your hand. Although we have no official confirmation on the design of the new Samsung we are sure it will join the Xperia S as one of the most desirable phones on the market.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 was a leading phone for screen technology and we can expect more of the same from the new Samsung Galaxy S3. It is rumoured that the model will feature a slightly larger 4.6 inch screen which still makes use of the excellent Super AMOLED technology. In terms of resolution there has been no confirmed figure although Samsung will be keen to rival the iPhone 4S which offers a pixel density of 330 pixels per inch. In order to achieve this we should expect the display to show a resolution of around 720 x 1184 pixels. Sony were also keen to match Apple in this department and have equipped the Xperia S with a wonderful display. The screen measures 4.3 inches in size and uses LED backlit technology. Sony have used their expertise in producing displays well on this model and have included some great features like the Bravia picture engine which helps the model to produce a great clarity of image. In terms of resolution the model offers 1280 x 720 pixels which equates to a pixel density of 342PPI.

There is no doubt that the new Samsung Galaxy S3 will offer some great screen technology but the Sony Xperia S also offers a great screen that is superior to any other Android device currently available. In terms of design we can expect the new Samsung to rival the Sony with a very slim profile and some eye catching styling.

The Sony Xperia S is the first Sony only branded handset that came out last February only. This is also the Xperia flagship. On the other hand, we have the up and coming member of the "One trilogy" the HTC One V. This handset and together with its siblings (HTC One S and HTC One V) were announced during the Mobile World Congress 2012 held in Barcelona Spain. I have chosen to write about these two new handsets to simply share with you all, their different personalities. And with their features, I am sure that they will truly make you fall in love with them.

Xperia S- This handset ships with a 4.3" LED backlit LCD Capacitive touch screen with 16 Million colors. It comes with a screen resolution of 720 x1280 pixels and a pixel density of 342 ppi. It is multi-touch and you can use as much as 10 fingers while navigating this handset. It boasts a scratch-resistant glass, so you do not have to worry about tiny scratches that will ruin the phone's overall appearance. Sony made sure to incorporate their famous Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine on this handset. This handset ships with a powerful Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon dual-core processor which clocks at 1.5GHz. The phone's current Operating System is the Android Gingerbread. But don't you worry because the famous Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade will soon land on this handset. The phone's best feature is its 12MP shutter. It comes with a resolution of 4000 x 3000 pixels and LED flash. You can also record videos at 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second (fps). You will also get video stabilizer and video light on this handset. You will also get a front-facing 1.3MP camera with 720 pixels and at 30 frames per second (fps).

HTC One V - This handset ships with a 3.7" Capacitive touch screen display with 16 Million colors. It comes in with a screen resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and a pixel density of 252 ppi. It features multi-touch too. This phone ships with Qualcomm MSM8255 single-core Snapdragon chipset which clocks at 1GHz. This phone ships with the latest Android iteration the Ice Cream Sandwich. It comes packed with a 5MP Shutter with a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels and LED flash. You can record videos at 720 pixels on this handset. Unfortunately, this phone does not have a front-facing camera. It features simultaneous HD video and image recording and face detection.

If you are looking for a powerful and stylish handset then the Sony Xperia S will suit you. If you on the other hand cannot wait to experience the power of the Ice Cream Sandwich, then the HTC One V is for you. No matter what handset you choose, you know that you will get what you want for less the price if you choose one these two handsets.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus was the first mobile handset to be released with the new Ice Cream Sandwich version of the Android operating system installed. Since we have seen the introduction of this model a number of new devices have arrived that also boast the updated software. We see how the Nexus compares with the Sony Xperia S, one of the most impressive ICS handsets currently on the market. We take a look at design and screen technology on both of these models to see which handset comes out on top.

The Sony Xperia S is the first handset introduced to the Xperia range since Sony took full control from former partner Ericsson. Despite this change the model still looks very similar to many previous Xperia phones that have been launched which is pleasing as the phones are generally regarded as some of the best designed devices available. The model measures 128 x 64 x 10.6mm and weighs just 144 grammes. The model offers a very angular design when you look at it from the front yet when it is turned over the back panel sports a gentle curve that helps the device to sit very comfortably in the palm of your hand. Sony have added some design changes in order to make this new range stand out from older models that they have produced. A transparent bar sits beneath the three capacitive buttons which are located below the screen. This bar contains LED lights which highlight the buttons above it and it certainly helps the device achieve a look that is very different from all other devices. Samsung always produce stylish devices and the Galaxy Nexus is no different. The model offers a design which is much curvier than its rival and this works particularly well on a large handset such as this than it does on many smaller screened devices. The model measures 135.5 x 67.9 x 8.9mm and weighs just 135 grammes. You will notice that both the depth measurement and the weight are less than the Xperia S which will help the model to appeal to many consumers. The screen dominates the fascia and is surrounded by a very slim bezel which means that the display almost covers the entire front panel which looks great. Despite different designs both of these handset looks superb and are two of the nicest looking handsets on the market. Consumer looking for a more angular design will obviously favour the Sony while those wanting a softer and curvier finish will be more attracted to the Galaxy Nexus.

Things are not so evenly matched when we look at the screen technology incorporated on both models. The Sony Xperia S boasts the superior screen to the Xperia S and just about every other phone currently available. The model sports an LED backlit LCD screen which measures 4.3 inches. This screen can produce an extremely high resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels which results in an iPhone 4S beating pixel density of 342PPI. Colours look bright and vivid and we also found that viewing the screen in bright conditions was also very impressive. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus uses a larger display that makes use of the company's own Super AMOLED technology. In terms of resolution the Nexus offers the same standard as the Sony but on a larger 4.65 inch display. This has a negative effect on pixel density which drops to 316PPI. This type of quality is enough to eclipse most other phones on the market and the screen does work extremely well. Unfortunately for Samsung the Xperia S is a market leader in this area and therefore impresses us more for image quality.

The Sony Xperia S and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus are two superb new handsets that both boast the very latest version of the Android operating system. Both models sport striking yet very different designs but the Sony impresses us more for screen technology thanks to its wonderful display.

Sony introduced their new Xperia line handsets during the recent Mobile World Congress 2012 (Barcelona, Spain). After launching their first Sony only branded handset the Sony Xperia S (Xperia line flagship) last February, Sony decided that it is high-time to introduce the rest of the Xperia Gang (P, U, and Sola) to the whole world. However, in this article we will focus on the Sony Xperia U and the Sony Xperia Sola only.

As part of Sony's grand plan (designing the Xperia line after the S), the latest Sony handsets are enamored with the famous transparent strip. This alone makes the handset appears as stylish and futuristic looking as the first Sony Xperia handset.

Of the two handsets, the Xperia U is on the petite side (its actual dimensions are 112 x 54 x 12mm). The Xperia Sola is a bit bigger (but slimmer) with its 116 x 59 x 9.9mm dimensions. Surprisingly, the Xperia U weighs more at 110 grams than the Xperia Sola. It weighs in at 107 grams only. Now, not only is that latter slimmer, it is also lighter than the petite Xperia U.

The Xperia U comes in with a 3.5" LED-backlit LCD display screen (with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels), while the Xperia Sola comes in with a 3. 7" Capacitive touch screen (with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels). They both have the same screen resolution, but the Xperia Sola's screen is a bit bigger than its sibling.

The Xperia U's bottom caps are interchangeable while the other one is fixed. You can personalize this handset to your heart's content. Even the phone's screen color can change as well. This is probably the phone's magic weapon. On the other hand, the Xperia Sola boasts the latest Floating Touch technology by Sony. With this, you will be able to navigate the phone's browser without even touching the phone's screen. Sounds cool? It is super cool! But the only drawback is that the said feature is limited to the phone's browser only. Well, Sony made a promise that soon enough they will try to make the said feature work outside the phone's browser.

Both of these handsets are packed with a 5MP Shutters with a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels and they both have an LED flash. They both ship with Android Gingerbread. But Sony promises an upgrade to the latest Android Iteration the Ice Cream Sandwich in the near future.

The Sony Xperia U is now available, while the Sony Xperia Sola is expected to be out on the market by second quarter of this year.

The Sony Xperia P was recently announced during the Mobile World Congress 2012 (Barcelona Spain); on the other hand its sibling the Sony Xperia S came out last February. We all know that the Sony Xperia S is the Xperia flagship and is also the very first "Sony Only" branded handset. This is also the benchmark for recent Xperia handsets announced during the Mobile World Congress. The other Xperia line handsets are the Xperia P, Xperia U, and the Xperia Sola. And boy, they do take after their big brother the Xperia S when it comes to outer appearance. But let us focus on the Xperia P and Xperia S. Read on!

When it comes to displays, the Xperia P is dwarfed by its sibling. It comes in at 4" only while the other one is packed with a bigger screen at 4.3". But then again, the difference is not that big at all. I mean at.3" you can barely notice the difference if you put the two handsets side by side. When it comes to resolutions, the Xperia P comes in with a 540 x 960 pixels with a pixel density of 275 ppi. Its sibling comes in with a 720 x 1280 pixels with a pixel density of 342 ppi. Again, it is pretty obvious who the winner is when it comes to clarity. But then again, both of them are packed with the famous Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine. So that's makes them a bit equal. But there is another "BUT", this is because the Xperia flagship boasts the Sony WhiteMagic technology.

The Xperia P packs an 8MP shutter (with a resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels) while its sibling comes in with a 12MP (with a resolution of 4000 x 3000 pixels) shutter. Both of them are equipped with LED flash. They can also record videos at 1080 pixels and at 30 frames per second (fps). So they are pretty equal when it comes to video recording capabilities. The Xperia P packs a VGA front-facing camera while the other one packs a 1.3MP front-facing camera with 720 pixels and with a rate of 30 frames per second (fps).

The Xperia P packs a 1GHz dual-core processor while the Xperia S uses a 1.5GHz dual-core processor. It is quite obvious who's equipped with the fastest processor. But then again, the difference is not that high. When it comes to the phone's OS, the Xperia P ships with the latest Android Iteration the Ice Cream Sandwich while its flagship brother ships with Android Gingerbread for its OS. If you look at this angle only, you will say that the newest Xperia handset is far better than its flagship brother. But then again, the Ice Cream Sandwich update is expected to land on this handset soon. So now, they are pretty equal again.

Truly, there is no winner and loser in this comparison game. Both the Sony Xperia P and Sony Xperia S are with merits and demerits. But, both are quite deserving of your attention. They are powerful and stylish. You will also get the first handset with a transparent strip that lights up when there is an incoming message or phone call. With this, you will never miss any message or miss precious calls again (even if its pitch dark).
