The Samsung Galaxy S2 is a superb mobile device which has become a global success thanks to its excellent specification. One of the attractive features of this model is the large 4.3 inch display which makes the handset perfect for a variety of different uses. One area where the screen is particularly useful is for playing the huge selection of games that are available for this phone. One of the best new games available for this device is Pot Smash. We take a closer look at this addictive new application.
The whole idea behind the Pot Smash game for the Samsung Galaxy S2 is to smash lots of fragile items that range from teapots to plates. In Greek culture plate smashing has been a tradition for centuries but many of us cannot afford to destroy our valuable items on a regular basis despite the undeniable enjoyment that it can provide. Pot Smash gives us all the opportunity to destroy items without it costing a penny or requiring any cleaning up afterwards. The game features a number of different modes but one of the most enjoyable is the Zen mode. Here you just have to smash as many items as you can within a set amount of time. A succession of items scroll quickly across the screen and you simply have to tap them in order to smash them. These objects do scroll very quickly and it is nearly impossible to destroy every item, even though the game supports multi touch so skilled players can tap the screen in two places at the same time.

There are seven other game modes available on Pot Smash for the Samsung Galaxy S2, many of which require a more considered approach than the all out destruction found on the Zen mode. These modes include a Memory mode which requires users to memorize certain items and then smash them when they appear on screen. There is also a Word Search mode where the items each have a letter painted on them. Users are required to smash the items in the correct order to spell out the desired word. In terms of design the application is superb. The simple graphics look great on the Galaxy's excellent display while the Super AMOLED technology that is used helps to produce wonderfully vivid colors. Pot Smash is a very addictive title that helps to ease stress and takes up a very small amount of time thanks to most challenges only lasting sixty seconds.
Pot Smash is an impressive new game for the Samsung Galaxy S2. The large screen on the phone is perfect for displaying the scrolling items and the addictive game play will have users returning in a bid to beat their highest scores.

People were expecting a lot of new things from famous Mobile Giants during the Mobile World Congress 2012 held in Barcelona Spain. Yes, Samsung came out with their latest budget Android phone and even their latest Projector phone. Apple was quiet during the MWC. LG came out with their fastest and best handset to date, the Optimus 4X HD. But nobody expected the hardware specialist (Huawei) to deliver not just one super smartphone but two crazy fast handsets. I am talking about the crazy fast Huawei Ascend D Quad XL and the Huawei Ascend D Quad. Both are sporting the powerful Quad-Core K3V2 processor. The Ascend D Quad is sporting a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, while the Ascend D Quad XL is powered by a 1.5Ghz Quad-Core processor.
![]() |
Huawei Ascend D Quad XL |
Now, another best feature of this handset is its 4.5" IPS + LCD capacitive touch screen. It comes with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels with a pixel density of 326 ppi. This may not be an AMOLED or Retina Display, but it sure can deliver what is expected from it. You will get rich colors and great viewing angles on this handset all the time.
This handset ships with an 8MP camera with a resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels and dual LED flash. It also ships with a 1.3MP (at 720 pixels) front-facing camera. Video recording is at 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second (fps). You can shoot videos like a pro with this phone's camera. You will also enjoy making and taking video calls on this handset.
And the good things don't end there, as you can see this handset ships with the latest Android Iteration the Ice Cream Sandwich. If all of the famous Android handsets are now getting their much awaited Ice Cream Sandwich update, this handset is pre-installed with it. One of the best features of the new Android OS is its ability to unlock the handset without having to touch the phone's screen. This is not magic! This is the power of the Ice Cream Sandwich. Now, if you want to unlock your phone all you have to do is to simply look at the phone's camera and it will automatically recognize you from store photos.
With the phone's quad-core processor and powerful new Ice Cream Sandwich OS, you can make wonders on this crazy fast handset. As you can see, this handset is today's most fastest and powerful handset. Now you know something about it, all you have to do is to wait for arrival of the crazy fast Huawei Ascend D Quad XL.

The HTC One S makes it easy to add, access and manage your contacts through the intuitive HTC Sense 4.0 user interface. The handset also boasts an 8 megapixel camera, advanced touchscreen and also has a durable ceramic unibody design which makes it an appealing handset on many levels.
Thanks to the integration of all your contacts through Facebook, Twitter and Google, your contacts folder is automatically filled with your contacts from these sources. Even more impressive is its seemingly intelligent ability to recognise duplicates, which the handset will then suggest as matches. This will provide a shortcut which allows you to integrate all matched contacts at a tap of the screen and these will automatically be integrated into one contact. Additionally, a contact's Facebook profile picture, as well as their current status and latest 'Tweet' will be displayed on the phone whenever they call. If it is their birthday, this will also be displayed on their screen, so you have no excuses for not remembering their birthday!
![]() |
HTC One S |
The HTC One S sees the addition of enhanced Google Voice recognition which actually works remarkable well. This has applications in your contacts folder also, which when activated, simply requires you to say "Call" followed by the contact's name. This will then call them automatically so you do not need to scroll through your contacts folder which can be a godsend if you have a lot of contacts stored on your phone. However, if you choose to use the more traditional means and manually find a specific person's contact info, the HTC One S makes this easier than ever. You can assign group folders to which you can add contacts. For example you could set up a folder for family, colleagues, or even for people on your sports teams, or specific circles of friends. When scrolling through all your contacts, the responsive touchscreen of the HTC One S comes into its own. Because contacts are by default, stored in alphabetical order, you can scroll along the right hand edge of the screen and a large icon with the current letter will appear. This updates in real time so you can quickly find a contact based on the first letter of their contact details.
The 'Smart Dial' feature is also included with the HTC One S. This has a search bar which allows you to start typing a contact's name and this will then be updated in real time after every character you enter. This filters your contacts based on the characters you have entered, making it possible to find the contact you want within a couple of seconds.
The HTC One S is the perfect phone for those who like to stay organised, thanks largely to its attributes when it comes to contact management.

The majority of modern smartphones boast some superb camera features and one of the leading devices in this area is the Sony Xperia S. This excellent new phone includes a 12 million pixel primary camera that can capture very high quality images. A range of applications are available for consumers that enable them to add effects to their images to give them a much more professional appearance. One of the newest apps available for the Xperia S is After Focus, a new piece of software which offers some brilliant features.
Unlike may photo editing applications currently available After Focus does not boast any social networking features that enable you to upload images directly to certain sites. This software is a stand alone photo editing tool and it is perfect for preparing your images before you upload them to other services. After Focus enables users of the Sony Xperia S to take a photograph from within the application or choose to edit another image that has already been captured with the phone. One of the most attractive features that this application offers is the ability to make certain areas of you image appear blurred which helps make the segment of the image that is in focus stand out even more. Users can opt to achieve this effect by simply circling the area that needs to remain focused on the screen. Alternatively the manual mode allows the blur to be applied at various levels on specified areas of the shot. This effect produces some fantastic results and it looks superb on the Xperia S thanks to the large display and excellent image quality that is on offer.
![]() |
Sony Xperia S |
The After Touch application for the Sony Xperia S also offers a wealth of other features in addition to the focus modes that we have discussed. A wide array of filters are available that help give your image a very different look. The usual filters are all available including Sepia which takes most of the colour out of the shot to leave a photograph with an attractive vintage effect. Once you have created an image that you are happy with the photo can be saved to your photo collection on the handset. Users can then choose to share the image by using the Android Share feature on the phone which easily enables the shot to be uploaded to sites such as Picassa and Facebook or sent in an e mail. This process does take slightly longer than alternative apps that have share features incorporated but it is a small price to pay for achieving such excellent final results.
After Focus is a powerful photo editing tool for the Sony Xperia S. Despite the lack of social networking integration the software still impresses thanks to a range of excellent options that help users to achieve some wonderful images.

The HTC One X is one of the very best mobile smartphones to launch this year. When we took a look at this device we found it really hard to fault the phone but there was one area that disappointed us slightly and that was the battery life offered by the model. HTC are not alone here, nearly every smartphone that we have looked at over the last two years lasted around a day from a full battery charge. We have spent some more time with the HTC One X and found some simple tips to help prolong the battery life of the device.
The HTC One X features a Nvidia Tegra 3 processor chip which has been optimised to deliver better power management and therefore a longer battery life. The problem with this however is that this has been counter acted by the inclusion of an incredible 4.7 inch display which shows a very bright image but places more strain on the battery. The quad core processor also enables the handset to take advantage of new games titles that are designed to use all four cores that the processor has to offer. So despite the improved power management new features place more demands on the battery and we seem to be no further forward. There are some ways of consumers considerably increasing the performance times that can be expected from battery without drastically altering the way in which they use the device.
![]() |
HTC One X |
The HTC One X features an auto brightness setting for the screen and this setting is activated when you set up the phone for the first time. The default setting for this is set to maximum so by reducing the level in the settings menu users will immediately see better battery performance. Another feature of the phone which places strain on the battery is the auto sync setting for e mails. This enables users to be automatically notified of incoming mail. In order to do this the phone needs to maintain a continuous data connection which will also help your battery life reduce rapidly. By turning this setting off you can help to improve battery life but many user may be reluctant to do this as they want to know when the receive a new e mail. A quick way around this is to use the auto sync widget on the home screen. This will update your inbox whenever you press it so you do not miss out on important mail and messages. In addition to these tips a new update is being rolled out by HTC that promises to improve power management of the device and therefore deliver longer life expectancy from the battery.
The HTC One X is a superb mobile phone that really does excel in most areas. By making one or two adjustments to the phones settings you can help the battery to last longer so that you can take full advantage of the great features that this model has to offer.

We all know that the evolution of mobile phones is simply unstoppable. There is simply no predicting what mobile giants are capable of doing and giving us. Just when we think that they are never going to get more converged (than what we have today) we then suddenly see a mobile phone with integrated projector. Yes, I am talking about the projector phone, the Samsung Galaxy Beam. But let me state the fact, this is not the very first mobile phone with integrated projector. This is actually Samsung's second attempt in giving all of us a projector phone. The first one is also named as Samsung Galaxy Beam. In this article, we will talk about both the old and new Samsung Galaxy Beam. Read on!
Let's talk about their displays. The old one comes in with a 3.7" Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen display with 16 Million colors. On the other hand, the new one comes in with a bigger 4.0" TFT Capacitive touch screen display with 16 Million colors as well. It's hard to say that the new one is a downgrade when it comes with a bigger screen display. On the other hand, the smaller screened Galaxy Beam features the famous Super AMOLED screen display. On a lighter note, both of these handsets are packed with 480 x 800 pixels for their resolutions. The old one boasts a 252 ppi for its pixel density, while the new one comes in with 233 ppi pixel density only.
![]() |
Samsung Galaxy Beam |
Let us now move to their processors and OS. The old Galaxy Beam ships with Android Éclair while the new one ships with Android Gingerbread. So between the two handsets, the new one boasts a more recent Android OS. This may not be an Ice Cream Sandwich handset but its Gingerbread OS works perfectly. The older handset ships with 720 MHz processor while the newer one comes in with a powerful 1GHz dual-core processor. Now, you will notice how the newer version is packed with a powerful and faster processor. This is close to the dual-core processor of Samsung's current flagship the Galaxy S2 which clocks at 1.2GHz.
Let's talk about their cameras. The older handset features an 8MP camera and can record videos at 720 pixels (at 30 frames per second). The newer one features a 5MP camera and can record videos at 720 pixels (at 30 frames per second) as well. Now, the camera of the latest Beam is downgraded to 5MP from 8MP.
When it comes to size, you will notice that the latest Galaxy beam is bigger and yet slimmer than the older version. Its actual dimensions are 124 x 64.2 x 12.5mm and it weighs at 145.3 grams only. The older one's measurements are 123 x 59.8 x 14.9mm and weighs in at 156 grams. You will also notice that it is lighter than the older models. Regardless of their sizes and differences, these handsets are still unique for featuring an integrated projector.

Recently, HTC announced their One Trilogy handsets. They are the HTC One X, One S, and One V. The HTC One V may not have the powerful and speedy quad-core processor like its sibling the One X, but it boasts ground-breaking specs that are pushing the boundaries of lower mid-level smartphones of today.
This handset hosts powerful innards that push the expectations of smartphone users. The HTC One V is HTC's answer to onslaught of boundary blurring mid-range level of smartphones by famous Nokia and Samsung. It comes packed with 5MP shutter with 720 pixels HD Video Recording capabilities. This is also packed with Beat Audio, just like older HTC handsets.
Even if this handset is designed to fall in the shadows of high-end models and high priced handsets, the HTC One V packs an impressive and pocket blower features. It boasts a speedy and fluid user interface accompanied by strong software and hardware. All in all, this handset offers an all-round pleasant experience and is equipped with eye-candy packaging as well.
This handset is packed with 4GB worth of internal memory and you can also add more via DropBox and as much as 23 GB more free cloud storage for 2 years. You do not have to worry about setting the phone up; it is basically designed for easy and manageable set up.

HTC One V |
Again, this handset is packed with a 5MP shutter and it uses 1GHz Qualcomm processor. You will also get the latest Android Iteration the Ice Cream Sandwich on this handset. There is also the phone's 3.7" display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels.
This handset sports a unibody design that is famous to HTC. It has a form factor and aesthetic design arced or curved chin. This is just like the famous HTC Legend. This is also a sleek and slim handset. This is the same size as the Apple iPhone 4S. With the phone's aluminum unibody build, this is by far one of the toughest and sturdiest handset to date. It offers zero distortion or flex when under high levels of pressure. The handset weighs in at 115 grams only. With it, this handset is guaranteed of free breakages and unwanted damages. This is also a handset that can beat the famous Samsung Galaxy brood with their plastic casings.
The HTC One V follows the trend and styles of modern handsets of today. Just like its HTC One siblings (One X and One S), this handset features few physical buttons. They are the sleep/power button and physical volume control rockers.
As you can see, the HTC One V is definitely pushing the boundaries of lower mid-level smartphones of today. With this phone, you get more without having to pay more.

If you are interested in smartphones, you may be aware of some of the new flagship devices which were recently revealed by several manufacturers at this year's MWC event in Barcelona. Among the two most impressive devices were the LG Optimus 4X HD and the Huawei Ascend D Quad. In this article I will compare a few key features of both of these phones so you can decide which one comes out on top.
![]() |
LG Optimus 4X HD |
Screen
With the wealth of content available from smartphones these days, such as HD movies, downloaded apps and graphic rich interfaces, the quality of a phone's screen has never been so important. Both of these phones really impress in this area and show just how much smartphone technology has advanced since the flagship releases at last year's MWC. The LG Optimus 4X HD the larger screen of the two, which instantly gives it appeal to those who like to watch movies or play games on their phone. It has an HD screen with a resolution of 720x 1280 which allows high definition to be displayed. The HD-IPS LCD screen provides great levels of brightness and colour rendering which also ensures it remains highly responsive to touch. The Huawei Ascend D Quad has an IPS+ LCD screen, which is very similar in terms of display quality, sharing the same resolution, although it is slightly smaller at 4.5 inches. As a result, the pixel density is actually higher as the pixels are packed into a smaller area.
Storage
Because smartphones are now more versatile than ever, there is a greater need for adequate storage within these devices. This is because users can instantly capture photos and HD movies, and download a wealth of different apps. These kinds of files are larger than the VGA quality videos and lower resolution photos which were previously the norm on smartphones. Luckily both the LG Optimus 4X HD and the Huawei Ascend D Quad have adequate storage for such files. The LG handset has 16GB built in to the handset, whereas the Huawei phone has 8GB. Both these levels of storage are great for getting started; however both phones come with expandable storage in the form of a microSD slot. This can accommodate a card of up to 32GB, providing a relatively inexpensive way to increase the storage.
Processor
Both handsets are among the very small number of smartphones which boast a quad-core processor. this buts both the Huawei Ascend D Quad and the LG Optimus 4X HD at the top of the market in terms of processing power. The LG handset has a slightly more powerful processor because of its 1.5 GHz clockspeed compared to the 1.2 GHz of the Ascend D Quad. This is only a trivial difference though, and you are unlikely to notice the difference between the two during use.
Alongside the features already mentioned, both phones offer similar 8 megapixel cameras with 1080p video capture, as well as the latest and most advanced Android 'Ice Cream Sandwich' operating system. Choosing between these phones is very difficult; as you can see, both share several traits. On paper I would say that the LG Optimus 4X HD comes out slightly ahead due to its higher storage capacity, slightly higher processing power and larger screen.

When it comes to smartphones, handsets such as the iPhone 4S and the Samsung Galaxy S2 is basking in the limelight. These phones come with dual-core processors, the latest hardware, and the most up to date software. However, these are high-end phones. This means that they will cost you an arm and a leg. If all you are interested in is socializing, there is an affordable handset that you might be more interested in. This is Research In Motion's BlackBerry Curve 9360.
Compared to the high-end and flagship smartphones currently available in the market today, RIM's affordable handset does not even come close. It does not come with a dual-core processor or the most advanced hardware. In fact, it only comes with an 800 MHz single-core processor, a 5-megapixel camera, and a lot more specs that you may find unimpressive. Despite the phone not coming with the most advanced features, it is optimized for socializing.

BlackBerry Curve 9360 |
Like all BlackBerry handsets this budget phone comes with the BBM pre-installed. This is the Canadian company's highly-popular mobile instant messaging service. This application will allow users to chat with their friends on the go. It works just like the instant messaging services used on your PC. Thanks to the phone's QWERTY keyboard conveniently found just blow the screen, you can start typing as soon as you receive a message.
The Curve 9360 will also give you instant access to the most popular social network in the planet Facebook. Here, you get to see you friend's updates. Furthermore, you will get to update your profile as well. Instant access to Facebook will allow you to always be in the loop with what your friends and loved ones are up to.
Even if you are not logged into an app, the phone can still get real-time social alerts. Other than real-time social alerts, the phone also comes with one-click social messaging. This will allow you to share things like photos, party dates, and lists. The phone will also allow you to merge all of your events into one calendar. This way, you are always in the know.
The phone also comes with NFC (Near Field Communication). Included in the smartphone's NFC features is inviting a friend to chat on BBM by simply tapping the phone against another NFC-enabled device. Tapping the phone against another NFC-enabled device will also allow you to share things like photos, contact details, and other files with friends.
As you can see, you do not have to spend an arm and a leg just to get a phone that will allow you to socialize. All you will ever need is the BlackBerry Curve 9360.

Some of the biggest smartphone manufacturers on the planet have recently unveiled brand new ranges and two of the most impressive that we have seen come from HTC and Sony. These line ups both feature flagship models and also more budget devices aimed at first time smartphone users. We take a look at the two mid range devices in each range, the HTC One S and the Sony Xperia P, and see what the handsets offer in terms of processing power and storage capacity.
Both of these two models incorporate chipsets that could have graced many flagship models 12 months ago. The HTC One S features a dual core processor that forms part of the new Snapdragon S4 Krait chipset. The processor itself is clocked at a very powerful 1.5Ghz and delivers excellent operation speeds to the user while the dual cores mean that the device handles multi tasking features with ease. Accompanying this processor is an Adreno 225 graphics processing unit which boast enough power to handle the most demanding games titles currently available. Considering that this is a mid range device we were very impressed with what the model offers in this area. We experienced no problems when testing the phone and we really did find it hard to differentiate between this model and the premium HTC One X in this department. The Sony Xperia P also boasts a dual core processor but one that is clocked at just 1Ghz. Despite the chip being considerably less powerful we found that its performance was still impressive. Sony have always included high quality single core chips on their older devices and it is evident that this quality extends to the new dual core processors that the company are using. A DB8500 graphics processing unit is also used on the phone which should prove more than adequate for any games that are downloaded although it does lack the performance that the Adreno chip used on the HTC device can deliver.
![]() |
HTC One S And The Sony Xperia P |
The HTC One S comes with 16GB of internal storage capacity. This should prove more than ample for the majority of phones users and should provide enough capacity for over 4000 audio tracks or up to 16 hours of video footage. Unfortunately the handset does not feature a micro SD card slot so there is now way of expanding this capacity but users can opt for one of the various cloud storage services available which provide additional storage. HTC have arranged a deal with cloud storage provider Dropbox and all users of this phone have access to 25GB of free storage. The Sony Xperia P offers exactly the same internal storage as the One S and also does not feature a micro SD card. Users of this phone can opt for an additional cloud storage service although Sony have yet to arrange a deal that allocates users of their devices free storage. Both models are almost identical in this department but the free Dropbox option gives the HTC model the edge.
The HTC One S and the Sony Xperia P are both exceptional mid range devices that actually compare very well with many premium handsets. Both phones include excellent dual core chipsets but the HTC offers a little more in terms of processing power. In terms of storage both units are evenly matched but users of the One S are provided with free cloud storage which is very appealing.

The Nokia Lumia 800 is one of two new Windows powered smartphones from the popular mobile phone manufacturer. Along with the Nokia Lumia 900, it brings a new appeal to the windows phone platform, which although not as popular an iOS or Android, it is gaining momentum thanks to new releases like these. In this article I will look at some of the key features of the Nokia Lumia 800 so you can decide if it is the right smartphone for you.
The handset measures up at 116.5x 61.2x 12.1mm, so it is about average in terms of its dimensions. It is also relatively lightweight at 142 grams. The front of the handset is dominated by a 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, which has a resolution of 480x 800. This is by no means the highest resolution out there; however it is high enough to allow decent display quality, meaning the handset is equally at home browsing websites as it is playing movies and photo slideshows. The screen is manufactured from Corning Gorilla Glass, which gives users peace of mind against dropping the phone, as it is unlikely to smash. Nokia's ClearBlack display technology is also included as with the Nokia N9 and Lumia 900, which is praised for its true, deep blacks which contributes to general display quality.
![]() |
Nokia Lumia 800 |
The Nokia Lumia 800 comes with a generous 16GB of internal storage as standard. Although there is no microSD slot, and therefore no expandable storage, the 16GB should be more than adequate for the majority of users as it will comfortably store an average sized music collection, along with files like photos and videos. Also, you can easily transfer your content to and from a computer thanks to the handset's USB connectivity.
When it comes to internet browsing, the Nokia Lumia 800 is well equipped for a great internet browsing experience. Data download speeds of up to 14.4 megabytes per second are available when using a 3G connection. This means that website contents will load quickly, and streamed data such as YouTube videos will load instantly with little buffering lag.
As a camera phone, the Nokia Lumia 800 is a decent offering. At 8 megapixels, the quality of the resulting still images is very pleasing, while the process of taking them is simple enough thanks to features like autofocus and dual-LED flash and there is also the added bonus of Carl Zeiss optics, leaving no doubts about the camera's build quality.
The Windows Phone Mango OD (version 7.5) provides an intuitive, easy to use and aesthetically pleasing user interface which provides a great alternative from iOS and Android operated devices. Working alongside this is a 1.4 GHz processor. this is by no means the most powerful processor out there, but Windows powered smartphones can currently only accommodate a single core processor, so it is certainly ample enough for any task you throw at it.
The Nokia Lumia 800 has plenty of impressive features as you can see, but as an added bonus it is also a very stylish handset. Available in Black, White, Magenta and Cyan versions, it is the perfect choice for those who also view their phone as a fashion statement.

The HTC One X provides authentic sound quality allowing you to enjoy audio such as your music, movie soundtracks and more on the device. It s large display and minimalist design meanwhile make it look as good as it functions, while an impressive camera finishes it off perfectly with HD video recording capabilities.
The handset includes the HTC Sense 4 user interface which is the updated version of an intuitive and straight forward system for navigating through your smartphone and doing what you want. It runs on top and as part of the Android 4.0 operating system, this is also the latest edition of the most popular mobile OS, and includes a fresher way of providing you with your applications and other functions on the phone. As the much similar HTC One S offers this handset is packed full of features and impressive hardware such as its 8 megapixel main camera which has an instant shutter and continuous shooting.
![]() |
HTC One X |
This means that for example, you hit the instant shutter tab onscreen once in camera and as you continue to tap it, the phone continues to capture photos and add them to your phone. This is all down to the dedicated image processing chip which is in addition to the 1.5 gigahertz quad core processor for the handset overall. You are also able to capture full 1080 pixel video on the phone and share it on a larger screen such as a compatible television through the media streaming DLNA connectivity present. It is also possible to capture a still photo while still in the process of video recording, all easily done through the simple onscreen controls.
The advanced sound quality of the One X meanwhile is through the Beats Audio (trademark) technology which enhances all the audio from the device producing stunning results for a mobile phone. It is also possible to get custom headsets to listen to your music on. The large 4.7 inch display meanwhile is included within a slim and curvy design and lets you immerse yourself within every application and widget on your phone. The weather widget for example displays the weather graphically, while many other apps and features can be added through Google Play (the new advanced Android Market).
With so many advanced features all within both a grand design and running on a fast and effective mobile platform, the HTC One X deals one of the most prominent handsets available. It includes impressive performance and features which make life easier and more enjoyable all round.

There were so many devices showcased during the Mobile World Congress 2012 held in Barcelona Spain. Of all the noise makers present on the said event, there were two names that caught the attention of many attendees. They are handsets made by the Taiwanese tech-giant HTC and Chinese tech-giant Huawei. They are the HTC One X (the HTC One flagship) and the Huawei Ascend D Quad XL (fastest Huawei handset to date).
Do you want to know why people are drawn to these two up and coming powerful smartphones? Do you also want to know why they are considered as a big threat to the famous handsets of today? Well, if you have answered a big YES to both of my questions then it is your lucky day. In this article, I will talk about the amazing and juicy details of these two new powerful handsets. Read on!
Let's start with their processing prowess. The HTC One X packs a powerful Nvidia Tegra 3 Quad-Core processor which clocks at 1.5GHz. The Huawei Ascend D Quad XL on the other packs a Huawei made chipset called K3V2 Quad-Core processor that also clocks at the same speed rate as the One X (at 1.5GHz). The only difference is that the One X uses a proven and well-known chipset maker the Nvidia. But on the other hand, Huawei is known for their hardware production.

HTC One X VsHuawei Ascend D Quad XL |
Let us now move on to their displays. The One X ships with a 4.7" SuperIPS LCD2 capacitive touch screen with 16 Million colors. It comes in with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a pixel density of 312ppi. The phone's screen is also protected with the tough Corning Gorilla Glass. The Ascend D Quad XL on the other handset ships with a 4.5" IPS+ LCD capacitive touch screen with 16 Million colors. It comes in with a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and a pixel density of 326ppi. If you compare the two handsets, you will notice that the HTC One X sports a bigger screen. It beats the Ascend D Quad XL at a mere.2" only. But then again, the pixel density of the Ascend D Quad XL is bigger than the One X.
Before this article ends, let me tell you about their cameras. We all love our mobile phones for their cameras. The good thing is, both of these handsets are sporting an 8MP shutter with the same resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels. They also have the same 1.3MP front-facing cameras with 720 pixels. Video recordings on these handsets are at 1080 pixels and at 30 frames per second (fps). They also ship with the same Android Iteration the Ice Cream Sandwich or Android 4.0.
As you can see, the HTC One X and the Huawei Ascend D Quad XL are basically the same with only different outer appearance and minimal differences (specs wise). All I know is that both of these handsets are worth waiting for and both are worth our every single (hard-earned) penny.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has finally been released after months of rumours regarding its potential specifications. The Korean tech giant's new Android flagship was unveiled today, and first impressions look great. Although there is plenty to discuss about the phone's features, in this article I will take a look at the camera.
Many people were expecting a 12 megapixel camera to grace the spec sheet of Samsung's latest Android powerhouse. As it turns out, it has an 8 megapixel camera, like its predecessor the Galaxy S2. This is not cause for disappointment though. It is Samsung's most advanced camera, thanks largely to both its quad-core processor along with the numerous upgrades made to Samsung's TouchWiz interface, which perfectly complements the Android 'Ice Cream Sandwich' platform which is of course the latest version of the popular software.
When you touch the on screen shutter button, the photo will be captured instantly, which is where the processor shows its benefits. The speedy camera interface also allows you to return back to the camera mode after less than one second after viewing a photo after it is taken. You can capture 3 photos per second manually, which allows you to then review and keep the best one, or you can enable the 'Burst Shot' feature. This allows you to take up to 20 consecutive shots with a single touch of the capture button. With it's built in software function you will then be recommended the best one for you to keep. The Galaxy S3 is also of course a very capable device when it comes to video capture. Various resolution settings of up to 1080p (full HD), are included. When you have taken a photo or captured a video you of course have all the options for sharing it over various social media platforms as well as through other devices thanks to connectivity options including DLNA, S Beam, and the new 'AllShare Cast Dongle' which is a Galaxy S3 optimised HDMI receiver (sold separately) which can be used with any HDMI enabled device like TVs.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 also displays a level of intelligence previously unseen in smartphones when it comes to sharing photos over social networking sites like Facebook. With an innovative face recognition feature, photos of friends will be automatically tagged, and you can access their profile simply by touching them in the photo.
As well as its camera and media sharing capabilities, the Samsung Galaxy S3 has plenty more to get excited about. From an advanced 4.8 inch S-AMOLED display, wireless charging, NFC compatibility, and all new voice recognition software, it was certainly worth the wait.
Samsung Galaxy S3 deals will be made available from May 29th. In the meantime, I will keep you up to date with everything you need to know about this device in my upcoming articles.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has just been released, and its spec list reads like a dream for tech enthusiasts. In this article I will look at how the handset differs to its predecessor the Galaxy S2 in terms of some key features.
Screen The Samsung Galaxy S2 is well known for the quality of its touchscreen, and this is continues with the Galaxy S3. The new version has a larger screen at 4.8 inches which is half an inch bigger than that of the previous instalment of the Galaxy smartphone series. The same basic screen technology is continued in the new flagship, sporting a Super-AMOLED capacitive panel, which is renowned as one of the best features of the Galaxy S2. In the new version though, the screen resolution has been upped to a 720p count, which means the Galaxy S3 is capable of displaying high definition content like movies and games.

Camera The Samsung Galaxy S3 was widely rumoured to include a 12 megapixel camera leading up to its release. During the live unveiling at Earl's Court in London though, we learned that it actually has an 8 megapixel unit, as does the Samsung Galaxy S3. Although the camera's pixel count is not as high as many were anticipating, it is far from disappointing. A wealth of new features has been added to the camera function, making it easier to use than ever. For example, you can capture up to 20 photos with a single touch of the capture icon, so you can choose the best one to keep. Of course, all the usual image enhancing features are included such as image stabilisation, face detection and an LED flash. Video capture is in 1080p high definition which looks great on the HD screen, and can be streamed to a number of compatible devices.
Processor and Operating System The Samsung Galaxy S2 was the first smartphone from the manufacturer to sport a dual-core processor with a clockspeed of 1.2 GHz. The S3 though has a 1.4 GHz Exynos processor so it directly competes with flagship phones from the likes of HTC (One X) and LG (Optimus 4X HD), both of which recently unveiled their new flagship Android devices at MWC 2012 in Barcelona. The new Android 'Ice Cream Sandwich' is the latest version, and is the OS of choice for the Samsung Galaxy S3 which also runs Samsung's custom Android UI called TouchWiz. This has plenty of improvements over the previous version found on the S2, many of which are aimed at making it the most intuitive interface out there which responds to a variety of natural movements and actions.

Why choose the Huawei Ascend D Quad, when there are so many more impressive smartphones from more established manufacturers? Although it is a relatively unknown brand in the UK, the Huawei Ascend D Quad has the makings of a great smartphone. In this article I will look at why it makes a great choice for those not won over by the latest offerings from the likes of Samsung and HTC.
At this year's MWC event in Barcelona, Huawei wowed the crowds with its latest entry into the high end smartphone market, and it looks like it could make the brand very popular in the UK.
The Huawei Ascend D Quad has all the features found on many of the latest flagship smartphones, sharing traits found in the likes of the HTC One X which is arguably the most advanced smartphone currently available. For starters, it has a very impressive screen. At 4.5 inches, it is sizable enough to ensure a great multimedia experience, which is further enhanced by the brightness and colour rendering provided by the IPS+ LCD capacitive touchscreen panel. The resolution of 720x 1280 results in pixel density of 326ppi which is just 4 short of the famous retina display found on the iPhone 4S. This is made all the more impressive considering the screen is a full inch bigger than that of the flagship Apple device.

Huawei Ascend D Quad |
As a camera phone, the Huawei Ascend D Quad is every bit as impressive as that on handsets like the Samsung Galaxy S2 for example. At 8 megapixels, it can capture impressive images, and comes with all the usual features like autofocus, LED flash and geo-tagging. The camera can also capture video footage, with the maximum resolution of 1080p allowing you to capture full HD videos, which can then be streamed wirelessly via DLNA to compatible devices like TVs and computers.
Although you may not have heard of the Huawei brand before, you will be left in no doubt about the quality of its software. The latest version of Google's Android platform (v4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich) is the operating system of choice, and this has the default Android interface rather than a manufacturer specific UI such as HTC Sense or Samsung TouchWiz. This means that apps can be downloaded from Google Play (previously known as Android Market), with apps which rival the AppStore in terms of quality and quantity.
A quad-core processor with a clock speed of 1.2 GHz puts the Huawei Ascend D Quad at the very top of the premium smartphone market in terms of its processing power, joining the ranks of very few other handsets to boast this technology including the HTC One X and LG Optimus 4X.
The handset also has some of the fastest internet browsing speeds on a mobile device, expandable storage in the form of a microSD slot (a feature which the HTC One X lacks), and many more impressive features besides.
As you can see, although Huawei is a relatively unknown brand, its latest addition to the smartphone market ticks all the boxes; on paper its hardware is up there with the best, and its software is renowned for its innovative features and is shared with some of the most popular smartphones in the world.
It is very hard to find anything bad to say about this phone. If you are looking for a new smartphone but do not want to follow the crowd, the Huawei Ascend D Quad is worthy of a place on your shortlist.

The new HTC One X is a superb mobile handset that comes with a number as excellent features installed that enable users to perform a variety of different tasks. By downloading applications there are also a number of additional roles that the handset can perform. We have a look at how this phone can help you meet new people with a range of excellent dating software that is available.
If you have a little bit of spare time to set up your account then OKCupid is one of the very best dating applications available for the HTC One X. When you download the software you need to spend around thirty minutes answering several questions that help the software establish your personality and interests. OKCupid then finds you potential matches based on the answers that you have given. Every profile that is matched with you has two scores listed besides the questions that you spent time answering earlier. The first score indicates how compatible the person is with you for romance while the second score does the same for friendship. When you browse through your matches you can view photographs and read information about that person and if somebody takes your fancy then you have the option to either send them a message or add them to your favourites. By adding the person to your favourites list the person is informed of your interest without you actually sending them a message. OKCupid offers a neat interface that is easy to navigate and boasts a large number of users that you can interact with.

An alternative application to help you meet new people with your HTC One X handset is Plenty Of Fish. Unlike OKCupid users will need to set up their account on a web browser rather than by using the application. When setting up your account there are more questions than can be found on alternative software but this does help the application give you more accurate results. On the main screen of the application there are several icons that enable you to navigate through the software. Perhaps the most frequently used icon will be the heart which is where your matches can be viewed. When you click on this you are presented with all of the people who Plenty Of Fish believe to be suited to you. If you find one of these is of interest then you can send a message and take things from there. One thing we did notice when using this application is that the users tended to be a little more suggestive than they were on OKCupid so this may not be the application for you if you are looking to build friendships over a period of time.
The HTC One X has access to some excellent applications that can help you meet new people for friendship or romance. OKCupid is a great application that is very easy to use while Plenty Of Fish may be a better option if you are looking for fun rather than a meaningful relationship.

The Nokia Lumia 800 is a new smartphone that offers a host of great connectivity options that enable users to take advantage of a number of great internet features. One area of this phone which benefits from the excellent connectivity is social networking. The majority of phone users have at least one social networking account and Facebook is the service that most people will use regularly. A new update is due to be introduced to the Windows Facebook application that will help it to deliver more features and functionality.
Details of the new Facebook update for the Nokia Lumia 800 were posted on the social networking site. Version 2.5 of the software will include a number of new features to help the service to deliver an experience similar to what users expect from using the full Facebook software on a PC or a laptop. A statement released by the Facebook team stated, "the team has been working hard over the past few weeks on building the next version of Facebook for Windows Phone, and as we're getting close to release". Although we have not been given exact details of when the update will be released we do know some of the new features that it will boast. One of the main changes that will be introduced will be threaded messages for group and single contact interaction. This basically means that the software will display both sides of the conversation on screen in chronological order. This is instead of simply viewing the last message that had been sent.

Nokia Lumia 800 |
A number of other great features will be available on Facebook for the Nokia Lumia 800 thanks to the new update. Full geo tagging will be enabled which means that any material posted by the user can have a geographical location attached to it so friends can see where the material was posted from. This is perfect if you are enjoying your summer holidays but perhaps not as useful if you are sitting on your sofa at home. In version 2.5 of the software users can choose to "like" comments that other users leave on their posts and pictures. Instead of logging into the full internet site to delete content from your wall users will now be able to use the application to perform this task, a feature that was missing from earlier versions of the software. The other big change that the update will deliver will be the ability to view and add active content to posts. This will mean that video and audio files can easily be accessed form the Lumia 800.
Facebook 2.5 for the Nokia Lumia 800 certainly includes some impressive features that will appeal to the majority of consumers who use the site on a regular basis. The ability to view threaded conversation is a real attraction while the new geo tagging features and active content also add appeal to the software.

The HTC One trilogy is composed of the HTC One X, HTC One S, and the HTC One V. The HTC One V is the final member of the HTC One's trilogy. This is dubbed as the budget phone of the trilogy. It comes in with a curved chin design and unibody construction. It comes in with a fairly standard 3.7" display. If you are someone who doesn't want a bigger handset, say a 4" or bigger sized handset then this is for you.
If you base the phone's tag price to its design and built, you will agree with me when I say that it is a big misnomer. The phone's aluminum body alone will give you that premium feeling that you are used to seeing on high-end smartphones of today. This is also something that is quite comfortable to hold, all thanks to the phone's amazing curved chin design and curve on its back edges. The One V comes in with a matte black finish and it comes in with some character.
Going back to the phone's curved chin design, it is easy for me to conclude that this is the phone's most striking feature. If you are a big HTC fan, then I am sure that you know that this is HTC's trademark.
The phone's 3.7" capacitive touch screen display is protected by the tough Gorilla glass. You will notice how the glass screen protrudes from the phone's body by a mere.5mm. The phone's glass top is cut away in order for it to reveal a row of drilled holes intended for the phone's earpiece. If you look below the phone's earpiece, you will see the HTC logo (in silver). At the phone's bottom, you will see three capacitive buttons that will help you in navigating around the phone. If you are in a dark place, these capacitive buttons will light up.

HTC One V |
If you look at the phone's right top edge, you will find the power/wake button. On the left part, you will find the 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone's volume rocker is on the right hand side. On the bottom left, you will find the Micro USB port for charging and connecting this handset to your computer.
This handset ships with a 5MP camera with a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels. It comes in with LED flash and auto-focus too. You will be able to record videos at 720p on this handset. Last but not the least, this handset ships with the latest Android Iteration the Ice Cream Sandwich.
As you can see, this phone is a great catch. It comes with the latest Android OS and pretty cool features that you won't find in other so-called budget phones out there. Fall in love with the final member of the HTC One trilogy, fall in love with the budget-friendly HTC One V.

During the Mobile World Congress 2012 held in Barcelona Spain, Huawei was able to impress the crowd with its latest offerings. One of these noise makers is the Huawei Ascend D Quad. This is one of Huawei's Quad-Core handsets introduced to the world via the Mobile World Congress. It is without a doubt a top of the line handset that will capture your heart. You do not have to be a geek to be able to appreciate this handset. This is truly for the hardcore smartphone user in you.
If you look at the phone's design, you will notice that it is quite familiar, to say the least. I know you're thinking of the famous Samsung Galaxy S2, because you are so right! On the other hand, this handset boasts a more conservative and thinner look than the famous Galaxy S2.

Huawei Ascend D Quad |
This handset promises you a great deal of exploding features. With the phone's K3V2 1.2GHz Quad-Core processor and matching 1GB worth of RAM, you are guaranteed of a faster and smoother handset. The phone's screen is another highlight of this handset. It is packed with a 4.5" IPS + LCD capacitive touch screen. In short, you will get a lot of viewing area on this handset. This may not be an AMOLED handset but its IPS + LCD screen will take care of your viewing angles and color quality.
Huawei may be well-known for their amazing hardware productions and not so much on the software area. But luckily, Huawei ships this handset with the best and latest Android Iteration the Ice Cream Sandwich. I am sure that you are unaware of how powerful this latest Android OS is. Imagine being able to unlock your handset without touching it and by just looking at the phone's camera? That is a pretty neat feature that only the Ice Cream Sandwich can give you.
So what other features can you expect on this handset? For one, there is the phone's 8MP camera with a resolution of 3264 x 2448 pixels. It comes packed with dual-LED flash and auto-focus. There is also the phone's 1.3MP Front-Facing camera. If video recording is your thing, then this handset will allow you to record videos at 1080 pixels and at 30 frames per second.
There are more to this powerful handset than what I can tell you. If you are a true-blue hardcore smartphone user, then the Huawei Ascend D Quad is for you.
