A Look At The Camera And Media Sharing Capabilities Of The New Samsung Galaxy S3

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has finally been released after months of rumours regarding its potential specifications. The Korean tech giant's new Android flagship was unveiled today, and first impressions look great. Although there is plenty to discuss about the phone's features, in this article I will take a look at the camera.

Many people were expecting a 12 megapixel camera to grace the spec sheet of Samsung's latest Android powerhouse. As it turns out, it has an 8 megapixel camera, like its predecessor the Galaxy S2. This is not cause for disappointment though. It is Samsung's most advanced camera, thanks largely to both its quad-core processor along with the numerous upgrades made to Samsung's TouchWiz interface, which perfectly complements the Android 'Ice Cream Sandwich' platform which is of course the latest version of the popular software.

When you touch the on screen shutter button, the photo will be captured instantly, which is where the processor shows its benefits. The speedy camera interface also allows you to return back to the camera mode after less than one second after viewing a photo after it is taken. You can capture 3 photos per second manually, which allows you to then review and keep the best one, or you can enable the 'Burst Shot' feature. This allows you to take up to 20 consecutive shots with a single touch of the capture button. With it's built in software function you will then be recommended the best one for you to keep. The Galaxy S3 is also of course a very capable device when it comes to video capture. Various resolution settings of up to 1080p (full HD), are included. When you have taken a photo or captured a video you of course have all the options for sharing it over various social media platforms as well as through other devices thanks to connectivity options including DLNA, S Beam, and the new 'AllShare Cast Dongle' which is a Galaxy S3 optimised HDMI receiver (sold separately) which can be used with any HDMI enabled device like TVs.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 also displays a level of intelligence previously unseen in smartphones when it comes to sharing photos over social networking sites like Facebook. With an innovative face recognition feature, photos of friends will be automatically tagged, and you can access their profile simply by touching them in the photo.

As well as its camera and media sharing capabilities, the Samsung Galaxy S3 has plenty more to get excited about. From an advanced 4.8 inch S-AMOLED display, wireless charging, NFC compatibility, and all new voice recognition software, it was certainly worth the wait.

Samsung Galaxy S3 deals will be made available from May 29th. In the meantime, I will keep you up to date with everything you need to know about this device in my upcoming articles.
