A Look At The People Hub On The Stylish Nokia Lumia 800

The Nokia Lumia 800 makes it easy to stay connected with friends, family members and colleagues via its People Hub which displays data from various messaging formats and social networking services on a single intuitive interface. This application is part of the Windows Phone Mango OS which is the platform of choice for the Nokia Lumia 800 and also its stablemate the Lumia 900.

The Nokia Lumia 800 also offers a number of impressive features, which are all made very easy to use thanks to the intuitive Microsoft platform. The interface of this software is arranged in a tile format which is the signature interface of current Windows Phone powered devices. These tiles offer live updates where applicable such as displaying missed calls, unread text messages and emails as well as social networking notifications from popular services such as Facebook and Twitter. The Nokia Lumia 800 comes equipped with a capable 8 megapixel camera on the rear of the device along with a secondary front facing camera for video calls. With Carl Zeiss optics and high definition video capture, the Lumia 800 is capable of taking on even high end camera phones, adding to its overall appeal.

The People Hub works by displaying your contacts in alphabetical order regardless of the format in which they are saved. For example, all your phonebook contacts, Facebook friends and email contacts will be displayed on a single interface. If a contact is present in more than one format, you will then have the option to select which method you wish to contact them via, which is very convenient as you do not have to open the appropriate app in order to create a new message/phone call.

Furthermore, all correspondence with a single contact can be viewed in time order, regardless of the messaging format. For example, all Facebook messages, text messages and tweets will be displayed a single interface. By integrating these services into a single app, you essentially do not need to use the standalone versions, unless it is to start a new message thread, which can of course be carried out using the People Hub and its integrated contacts lists.

The Nokia Lumia 800 is a great example of the 'new' Nokia. The company has recently seen a slump in sales, but with impressive smartphones like the Lumia 800, it looks set to turn its fortunes around, slowly returning to its former glory and impressive sales statistics. With its sleek styling and easy to use software, the Nokia Lumia 800 is a great all round smartphone. If you are looking for an alternative to the ever popular Android and Apple smartphones, the Nokia Lumia 800 would be my top recommendation.
